TGF 331

TGF-331 is a dispensable liquid gap filler designed for high performance thermal management and for ease of use. Ideal for high volume applications, TGF-331 uses easy 1:1 mix ratios and has excellent rheological properties. Typical applications include filling air gaps in automatic electronic control units (ECU), PCBA to housing, discrete component to heat spreader, LED bonding, computer and peripherals and other automotive electronics.

Why a liquid gap filler and not thermal gap pad? 

Cost is the first factor. On the front end, liquid gap fillers tend to be much cheaper than gap pads. The cost associated of producing gap pads result in a very expensive end product. While the use of liquid gap fillers for high-volume applications requires an investment in dispensing equipment, the cost is normally amortized in production and quickly pays for itself.

Versatility is another palpable advantage afforded by gap fillers. Liquid gap fillers are morphologically versatile and adapt to surfaces better than gap pads. This is because they can conform to any shape or profile when dispensed to be cured in place. What this means is managing myriad applications with a single stock item. While most gap pads offer uniform gap thickness, this can easily be achieved in liquid gap fillers by using spacer beads.

Our most popular thermally conductive liquid gap filler is TGF-331. It has a good working time of 30 minutes and cures to form a very low durometer polymer, resulting in virtually no stress to components. Curing time, for TGF-331, can happen at room temperature, or it can cure at accelerated rate at elevated temperatures.

TGF-331 has a thermal conductivity of 3.6 W/mK and operating temperature just over 200°C. While highly thixotropic, its low viscosity allows for a good balance of flow and slump resistance.
